Matthew & Jaclyn Wed

May 30, 2009

Matthew and Jaclyn got married at The Riverhouse at Goodspeed Station last weekend.   I had not photographed a wedding there yet and I love that area of Connecticut.  The Goodspeed Opera house is just down the road, as is the most adorable little train station.  This wedding had some beautiful floral details.  The flowers were done by Bakes and Baldwin and were quite simply gorgeous.  I love a wedding with well thought out details.  There’s something about beautiful flowers that make guests feel special at an event.  Not only were Matthew and Jaclyn a gorgeous couple but they also had nine bridesmaids and groomsmen.  How fun is that!  Here are some of the highlights from the day.

Jeff & Ann Marie Wed

May 28, 2009

I had a busy Memorial Day weekend with two weddings.  First up, New Jersey.  Jeff and Ann Marie were so much fun.  I knew that I was in for a good time when Ann Marie greeted me at the door in her vintage looking bride and groom PJ’s.  This is a very close, loving family.  They even have a wedding tradition of reenacting the Meatloaf song “Paradise by the Dashboard Light”.  Remember,  “will you love me forever”?  We all laughed our butts off.   Thank you Jeff and Ann Marie for making me feel like a member of the family.

Happy Memorial Day!

May 22, 2009

I have a busy weekend planned with two back to back weddings and a Memorial day party to attend (if I’m still standing) on Monday.  We will have jousting and sumo wrestling matches, complete with fat suits.    Should be fun and I know that I will have some great photo opportunities there.  People love to get crazy and I personally need to be silly sometimes to cope with life’s difficulties.  I will also be attending the Memorial day parade in my town.   I always get choked up when I see all of the people in uniform.  Makes you reflect on the ones that died for us who are not marching.  Enjoy your weekend everybody but raise a glass in honor of all the men and women who have served our country on our behalf.

Swine Flu-H1N1

May 20, 2009

I was in New York City yesterday and just barely caught the news while waiting for an appointment.   Mayor Bloomberg was on talking about 18 schools that are closed as fears of Swine Flu spread.  Just Google Swine Flu and you cannot deny the global panic.  Rudy’s Bar & Grill on Ninth Avenue has a more sarcastic, humorous point of view and they dressed up their mascot to express their opinion on the subject. I certainly don’t mean to minimize the serious nature of the topic. Scary stuff with one confirmed death in New York, 8 more confirmed cases in the city and a probable 4 more on Rikers Island.  I believe that just this morning 13 more schools have been ordered closed to bring the total to 26.  Wash your hands people.

Amy & Patrick Wed

May 15, 2009

I met a new photographer friend last weekend, and had the opportunity to shoot a gorgeous wedding with him.  Craig Norton is based up in Hartford and although we have quite a few mutual friends, our paths had not crossed until now.  Craig has a lot going on including teaching and he just has this great laid back personality.  We shot the wedding of Amy & Patrick at St. Patrick~St. Anthony Church with a beautiful reception that followed at The Bond Ballroom .  The band was the Shiny Lapel Trio .  Beautiful wedding, thanks for including me Craig!
