Billie & Jon Wed at Villa Rosa

May 14, 2009

I have to backtrack a bit here.  Life is always busy in May and June and I don’t want to get ahead of myself.  Billie and Jon’s wedding felt like a blast from the past.  I loved the dresses that the bridesmaids wore.  I mean how can you go wrong with red.  It was so lovely to see the different generations all dancing and having a great time.  Congratulations Billie and Jon!

Happy Mother’s Day

May 10, 2009

I’ve had the most incredible 24hrs.  Yesterday was the annual May fair in New Canaan and I got to spend a quick hour or so there with my sunshine.  I think the fact that I was limited on time made deciding which ride to go on easy and fast.  I LOVE the swings.  My son has never been on them and now he LOVES the swings.  I was so excited to be able to take some pictures.  This is one of those rides that I just want to stay on for an hour or so, especially if I am shooting.  After just two rides, we had to race home as I had to get to Hartford to second shoot for my friend Criag Norton.  It was a gorgeous wedding and I’ll leave you with a teaser shot from that until I can post some more.  I’m off to go celebrate Mothers Day with my Mom and sisters.  I’m going to try to get some portraits of everybody while there.  This should be interesting.

Jefferson Todd — Wow! I love those swing photos. It looks like so much fun! I think I'd probably get sick if I tried taking photos while spinning around in circles.   ( May 15, 2009 @ 2:16 pm )

Cynthia Brown — I was one of those kids who would spin around just to get dizzy! I'm not kidding when I say that I could stay on this ride for an hour. It's like a drug to me. lol!   ( May 15, 2009 @ 2:40 pm )

Totally Rad Action Recipes Site Launches

May 5, 2009

I was thrilled to get an email from Doug Boutwell, the brains behind  “Totally Rad Actions” regarding the recipe that I used to create one of my images.  I then got a second email from him announcing the trarecipes.com site.  I am so excited that my image made it to the site and that it is the first image on the page.  Go check it out, spread the blog love and vote for my image.  It’s all for fun.  BTW, if you don’t own these photo shop actions yet, than I simply cannot imagine what you’re waiting for.  I can’t live without mine.

Here’s my image which is of “Just Max” in the 9th ward of New Orleans this past October.  The ravages of hurricane Katrina still very apparent.

Eileen Broderick — Cynthia--this image is captivating. I never use that word but I had to think of something different to say b/c this image is just so powerful. Love the shot and love the treatment. Awesome.   ( May 5, 2009 @ 3:58 pm )

Cynthia Brown — Thanks guys, how totally humbling to have an image here. I am such a fan of both the Boutwell's and our model in this shot, "Just Max" is hilarious.   ( May 5, 2009 @ 5:16 pm )
