Ramsey & Amber are transplants from Boston to San Francisco,  so for them coming up with wedding colors was a no brainer.  Orange and blue, inspired by the colors of the Golden Gate Bridge.  Amber made a lot of their wedding details herself including the most awesome cake topper depicting them.  As if the details were not enough, Amber & Ramsey (aka “Ramber”) decided to shoot their portraits before the ceremony.  I love it!  We had a great time with the few red barns on the grounds.  From the handmade details to the music that their DJ friend played, everything about this wedding had the couples signature style.  I think that everyone felt at home and I felt like I’d known them for years.  Congratulations Amber and Ramsey!  Thank you for sharing your story with me!

This is the second year that my Karate Dojo has held a Karate camp.  Deer Lake Scout Reservation in Killingworth, Connecticut is 253 acres of gorgeous woodlands, fields, trails for hiking and two lakes.  It is a beautiful environment to immerse ourselves into Martial Arts training.  It is an intensive program where students gain further insight into the mind/body/spirit connection.  It is challenging physically, emotionally and we earn a greater understanding of patience, respect and appreciation.  The camaraderie grows deeper as we all push ourselves together.  It’s quite an experience and It makes me grateful that I discovered Karate the way that I understand it now.   Although I go primarily to train, I try to take some pictures when I can.  This year I also shot a bit of video,  so perhaps I will have a fusion project to work on in the future.   We were up at 5:30 AM stretching for a 6:00 run everyday.

I am looking for models to shoot at an amazing location in Griswold, CT.  Perhaps you are newly married and would like to do a day after session before storing your gown.  This is not a trash the dress session as we will be walking among fields of tall sunflowers.  I am considering all kinds of models, couples, seniors and bridals.  The flowers are short lived and so this session must take place between 7/20-7/27/09.   I will provide models with a disc of images for personal use.  If you are interested, please send me an email.  info@cynthiabrownweddings.com

I love Greek Orthodox wedding ceremonies.  The churches are usually beautiful and ornate inside.  Joanna and Dean had a gorgeous wedding day.  Just a few days prior, we had some totally weird tornado like weather in that part of the state.   Joanna even had to call me to change our start location as her parents had a huge tree fall on their house.  Thankfully no one was hurt.  It wouldn’t be a normal wedding without some little thing going wrong.  We can’t control the world, only our attitude about what comes our way.  Joanna and Dean were all smiles, truly in love and thrilled just to finally be getting married.  I had a blast photographing the traditional Greek dancing.  Congratulations Joanna and Dean!

Caitlin was looking up at the sky nervously on her wedding day.  There were possible thundershowers in the forecast and her ceremony was scheduled to take place outside.  Well, we ended up having some of the most gorgeous light that I’ve shot a wedding in,  as well as a double rainbow during the ceremony.  How’s that for good luck!  I shot a whole series of pictures of the wedding party down by the water, but I particularly love the ones of all of the beautiful bridesmaids in blue.  They were backing up ever so slowly towards the water for a picture with Caitlin’s dress in hand.   Congratulations Christopher and Caitlin!
