I love an event where the hosts have put some thought and effort into the details.  Carlos and Yevi decorated their deck as if it were one of their art installations.  It was so refreshing to not have a timeline.  The couple was not officially announced, there was no bouquet toss or garter, just warmth and celebration among intimate friends.  Everyone enjoyed a fantastic lobster meal prepared by the Coastal Gourmet.  A friend of Yevi’s prepared an amazing chocolate wedding cake that was infused with lavender and the grooms cake was a delicious replica of one of Carlos’ favorite sculptures.

I’ve been trying to blog about this wedding for a while now,  but have had so much fun with the imagery that I won’t even get to it all in this post.  I knew from our first meeting that this was going to be a fantastic wedding to shoot.  Carlos and Yevgenia are both artists and were planning a small intimate affair at their home,  but wanted to spend some time after their ceremony to capture some unique,  artistic photographs.  Well count me in-I love it!   This was probably our last Summer like day and it was nothing short of gorgeous.  I have the most amazing clients.  Carlos and Yevgenia were up for anything and as a result I think that we got some pretty amazing wedding pictures.  So here’s part one of their story.

Nicole and Gavin got married at Catlin Gardens in Slate Hill, New York.  Behind the main building there are beautiful gardens and many interesting places to take pictures, so I was thrilled that we were shooting portraits prior to the ceremony.  Setting up a first glance shot is always fun and the couple gets to attend at least some of their cocktail hour as well.   Nicole’s colors were brown and blue which I love.  First of all they match my logo and who doesn’t love blue hydrangeas.  The icing on the cake,  (no pun intended),  was Petey.  Petey is Nicole’s and Gavin’s Boston Terrier who did an amazing job of ring bearer.   He was rewarded with many hugs after the ceremony.  Congratulations Nicole & Gavin.

It was a beautiful day to get married at Saint Clements Castle.  The grounds around Saint Clements are lovely and the view of the Connecticut River is surprisingly stunning.  It’s a wonderful site for an outdoor ceremony.  Danielle and Andy had an elegant wedding and danced late into the evening with music provided by Powerstation Events.   Congratulations Danielle & Andy.   Thank you for making me a part of your big day!
