I’ve been without internet service for the last couple of days. Wow, soooo frustrating. I actually have to be grateful as it allowed me the time to finish some images that I’ve had in the wings. Where do you start with Buttonwood Farm. Well, I’ve been trying to get to this place for two years and for various reasons have missed it. Buttonwood Farm in Griswold is almost in Rhode Island. It is 10 acres of sunflowers surrounded by gorgeous farmland and a fresh ice cream stand that is the best I’ve found south of Maine. Every year they sponsor a fund raising event, “Sunflowers for Wishes”. They sell bouquets of flowers for $5.00, (a bargain if you’ve seen them for sale in NYC) and all of the proceeds from the sales of flowers during this week go directly to the Make-a-Wish foundation. Pretty fabulous in it’s own right but be there to take in the view and it’s simply stunning. Arlene is a gorgeous bride from one of my weddings earlier this season and I was thrilled to do a day after session with her at the farm. Kudos to her adorable husband Sam who helped us in every imaginable way. The shots with the Harley are Sam’s doing. He simply asked the couple riding if we could pose with the bike. Then I heard that Sam actually sold his bike in order to buy Arlene her engagement ring. I already liked him, now he’s a super star!

Sam gets a kiss and a triple scoop of ice cream for holding reflectors, being water boy, picking bugs out of Arlene’s dress and keeping us all cool with a beach umbrella in between shots. What a great way to spend a day, thank you Arlene and Sam!
