Connecticut Wedding Photographer; Eolia Mansion, Caitlin + Stephen

July 5, 2011

The Eolia Mansion at Harkness Memorial State Park is a magical place.  I simply love shooting there!  Surrounded by sweeping views of Long Island Sound, 200 plus acres of rolling lawns and perennial gardens, this Revival-Style mansion is fairy tale glamorous!  For Caitlin & Stephen it was the perfect backdrop for their french inspired wedding.  Linen and lavender details combined with butlered Hors d’oevres and Dinner Buffet by Coastal Gourmet and music by Elegant Occasions.  This gorgeous couple solidified their love in Paris in the same neighborhood that I lived in.  Everyone attending this lovely event felt transported to the city of lights.  Ooh, la la!

Connecticut Wedding: Christina & Karl at The Eolia Mansion

November 23, 2010

The Eolia mansion at Harkness State Memorial Park is such an elegant venue reminiscent of yesteryear that it is the stuff that little girls dream of for their fairytale weddings.   I’m amazed at how I discover something new about it each time I shoot there.  Christina & Karl had an intimate wedding celebration in September featuring some of my favorite vendors.  Andrea Marano and her team did Christina’s makeup, Michael from Coastal Gourmet provided the event planning and gourmet food, Yumiko Fletcher of Hanna Floral Design created stunning floral arrangements and bouquets, David from Powerstation Events provided the music that kept the party hopping and the paper goods were designed by Kristine’s Paperie.  I had the incredibly talented Anna Sawin second shooting with me and it was such a lovely day that it hardly felt like work.  Everyone had a smile to share or a happy tear to shed.  Congratulations Christina & Karl!

Anna captured the two above shots with stellar grace from her side vantage point.

Some of Karl’s coworkers found the perfect way to decorate their ride!

Rosemary Correy — I think both Karl and Christina look beautiful. I wish them all the happiness in the world. I know Karl a long time and I am glad he finally found the woman of his dreams.   ( December 2, 2010 @ 2:52 pm )

Carlos & Yevgenia, Part Two

September 29, 2009

I love an event where the hosts have put some thought and effort into the details.  Carlos and Yevi decorated their deck as if it were one of their art installations.  It was so refreshing to not have a timeline.  The couple was not officially announced, there was no bouquet toss or garter, just warmth and celebration among intimate friends.  Everyone enjoyed a fantastic lobster meal prepared by the Coastal Gourmet.  A friend of Yevi’s prepared an amazing chocolate wedding cake that was infused with lavender and the grooms cake was a delicious replica of one of Carlos’ favorite sculptures.
